Louisiana to Have Float in Rose Parade for Third Straight Year
For the third year in a row, Louisiana will have a float rolling down the streets of Pasadena, California in the 2024 Tournament of Roses Parade.
The 2024 float will have quite the Mardi Gras theme as it will be covered in purple, green, and gold, featuring a fleur de lis, larger-than-life Mardi Gras jester, and second-line inspired umbrellas.
“What better place than Louisiana to highlight the world of music and Mardi Gras?” Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser said. “We’re looking forward to another award-winning float with unprecedented exposure to Louisiana and all our great state has to offer.”
Mid-way through the parade there will be a performance from the float hosted by Louisiana. Details about that will be released in the near future.
The overall theme for next year's parade will be "Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language."
Last year, some 100 Louisiana volunteers helped put together our state's float. Over three days, they installed 130,000 roses.

Louisiana's involvement in the Rose Parade the last two years has been deemed a huge success, Assistant Secretary of Tourism Doug Bourgeois said. In 2022 and 2023, the state's participation in the parade attracted about four billion viewers.
Bourgeois said that media advertising value is $39.2 million. Louisiana's floats have also won multiple awards for showmanship and entertainment.
“This is a great opportunity to reach the world with all of the ways you can Feed Your Soul in Louisiana,” Bourgeois said. “We want to share that opportunity and shine a spotlight on every corner of the state.”
The Rose Parade next year will take place on January 1, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. P.S.T. You can watch the 132-year-old celebration on ABC, NBC, and Peacock.
