BROUSSARD, La. (KMDL-FM) - The City of Broussard has held a wonderful Christmas event for the past several years called Noël a Broussard. This year, it's getting a little something extra.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 6th in Downtown Broussard with festivities beginning at 2:00 p.m. near City Hall.

You and the family can plan to spend the afternoon enjoying the Christmas Parade, Lighting of the City Christmas Tree, and the town's first-ever Christmas themed Drone Light Show.

The afternoon will also have kids' activities, a vendor market, Christmas caroling, real snow and more.

Here is the complete rundown and schedule of events:

  • 2:00 p.m. - Vendor Market / Reindeer Games
  • 3:00 p.m. - Parade begins
  • After parade until 5:30 p.m. - Photos with Santa on the City Hall Porch
  • 4:30 p.m. - Caroling begins on stage
  • 5:45 p.m. - Lighting of the tree begins
  • Immediately following Light of the Tree - Drone Show begins

There will be several roads in Downtown Broussard that will be closed during the event. Here's the rundown of road closures:

  • Morgan Street will be closed 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. from Albertson Parkway to Main Street.
  • Main Street, from St. Cecilia School to Arceneaux Park will be closed from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and from S. Washington to Lafayette St. from 1:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Railroad Street will be closed at S. Washington and S. Morgan from 1:30 p.m. - 7 :30 p.m.; however, those needing access for business will be allowed entry.
  • Polk Street from Main St. to E. Madison will be closed from 1:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
