In what has to be an experience that a handful of Vernon Parish Sheriff's Deputies will not soon forget, a Anacoco man was arrested after he allegedly stole a hearse and took it on a huge road trip to Texas and back.  Like you do.

28-year old Nolan Wilder is currently sitting in the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and Jail (I guess they like to keep a very close eye on the detained).  According to KLFY, he's being charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle, one count of criminal damage to property, and one count of criminal trespassing after deputies say he stole the unique vehicle from a Leesville funeral home and took it across state lines to Texas.

Investigators with the Vernon Parish Sheriff Department say that Wilder confessed to "removing decorative accessories from the vehicle in an effort to make it have a different appearance."  No information was given as to when he is expected to go to trial, why on earth he would steal one of the most recognizable vehicles on earth for a wild joy ride to Texas during a pandemic, or what this masterminds endgame truly was.

His bond is set at $37,000
