A Lafayette man has been arrested on charges stemming from a shooting in Breaux Bridge.

Maj. Ginny Higgins, a St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson, says 18-year-old Rondell Barfield allegedly fired several shots into a trailer in the My Place Trailer Park in Breaux Bridge.

Barfield fled the scene before deputies arrived, but he turned himself in a few hours later. He has been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal discharge of a firearm.

No injuries have been reported.
