Lafayette Police Investigating Friday Morning Shooting
Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Sergeant Wayne Griffin says, via press release, that one man shot at another while the two of them had some type of verbal altercation at around 8 o'clock Friday morning in the 800 block of St. Charles Street.
Griffin says they do not know what started the argument, but the man at the home on St. Charles Street allegedly retrieved a gun when the other man was trying to leave the house.
Police reported to the scene, but they were not able to find either person.
Later they found a man suffering from non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. Griffin says the man had been shot in his lower torso.
The suspect in this case shot at the victim several times according to Griffin, but the victim was able to the leave the scene in a car.
Griffin says they are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of this case.
