LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Lafayette Police and U.S. Marshalls are still searching for a man accused of shooting and killing a person in late July.

Corey Britt with the U.S. Marshalls Office says on July 28, 32-year-old Carl Phillips allegedly shot the victim once in the chest at a home on Goldman Street. He then fled the scene in a gold-colored vehicle.

The victim was taken to Lafayette General in critical condition, but he later died from his injuries.
