Lafayette Woman Arrested In Alleged Business Scam

49-year-old Felicia Young of Lafayette has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from investors.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says Young is alleged to have solicited over $25,000 in startup money from investors, saying that federal grant money would be received in conjunction with the startup money. But, the money was never used for the purpose of opening a business by Young.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have given Young money for the purpose of starting a business to contact the Lafayette Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division as the investigation continues.
