Lawmakers Have Rejected Proposed Reduction Of TOPS Program

Louisiana lawmakers have rejected a plan to tweak the TOPS tuition program.

Rep. Joe Harrison, R-Napoleonville, had proposed a bill that would raise standards for the program in an effort to reduce costs.

The TOPS program will cost the state an estimated $235 million next year.
