Louisiana Bakery Goes Up in Flames as Community is Stunned
Another landmark in St. Landry parish was destroyed by a fire Sunday afternoon, leaving the community stunned.
Ray's Bakery in Eunice went up in flames on Sunday afternoon. As you will see in some photos here, the building and business appear to have been a total loss.
The bakery was a fixture in the Eunice community for over 65 years and was known for its delicious treats, cakes, and pocket bread.
The Eunice Fire Department, along with others, responded to the blaze as the community looked on late Sunday afternoon. Many who drove past the fire in Eunice posted videos and photos of the place that so many admired on social media.
This is the second landmark to burn in Eunice in recent years. If you recall, we reported on a fire in May 2024 that resulted in the beloved restaurant Nick's on 2nd burning to the ground. That structure was just recently torn down and cleared.
In addition to that, another famous restaurant in the area caught fire and was destroyed. That being, The Crawfish Barn in Vidrine, Louisiana.
Three well-known establishments, loved by their community, have gone up in flames in the last year in St.. Landry and Evangeline Parishes.
As of now, there's no official word on the cause of the fire at Ray's Bakery, but we will continue to follow this developing story.
Here are more photos of the fire in Eunice off of Hwy. 190 Sunday afternoon.
