(KPEL News) - The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office took to social media to describe the apprehension of a man who jumped into the water to escape authorities, and now their hilarious post has gone viral.

This agency is one of my favorites to follow on social media, and it's because of the humor they use to describe some serious situations they encounter.

Keith Hebert of Arabi allegedly stole a truck in St.Tammany Parish, and when authorities located him and the truck, he fled from deputies. Well, it gets better because Keith reportedly stopped the stolen truck on the Twin Span Bridge and leaped into Lake Pontchartrain.

He thought that was his scape, but it wasn't because the St Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Marine Division was nearby and they were able to retrieve Keith from the water.

He was taken to a hospital for observation and then later released to authorities. As you can see here, Keith was still wet from jumping into the lake and was wrapped in pink garments while in custody.

In the viral post, the Sheriff for St Tammany Parish, Randy Smith, had this to say about criminals in his parish, “Do not come to St. Tammany thinking you are going to commit a crime and get away with it. You will be arrested.”

Here's the hilarious post by the Sheriff's Department in southeast Louisiana. Take time to read this, and if you know anyone who needs a good laugh, be sure to send them this post.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memoriesβ€”and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
