A police officer in Springfield, Louisiana was arrested on Monday for indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

31-year-old Taylor Lewis, from Hammond, was arrested following an investigation into a Department of Children and Family Services complaint.

According to the LPSO, a report was received on Monday, December 2 from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services about alleged adult behavior with a juvenile.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard released this statement about the arrest:

Through our investigation, the adult suspect was identified as 31-year-old Taylor Lewis (of Hammond, LA) - a law enforcement officer with the Town of Springfield. It was also learned through investigation that Lewis maintained an inappropriate relationship through several different social media platforms with a juvenile.

Details about the content of the messages between the officer and the juvenile were not provided.

Lewis was taken into custody and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a charge of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

The investigation is ongoing.
