A homeowner in Lafayette, Louisiana reportedly attacked a person with a baseball bat after the would-be intruded allegedly broke into a home in River Ranch.

The Acadiana Advocate reports that the Lafayette Pollice Department arrested 32-year-old Langston Green of Donaldsonville, last week after he allegedly broke into a home on the southside of the city.

Lafayette Police say that Green entered the home and was then hit multiple times with a bat as the family escaped the house and ran for safety. When police arrived the subject left the home but was ultimately located in the area and arrested.

There were no reports of injuries from those who live in the home, but this is another reminder to always secure your home and your property.

You should also always be aware of your surroundings when entering and leaving your home. Just a few seconds to observe your surroundings can make the difference in putting yourself in harm or not.

The Acadiana Advocate reports that Green was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of simple burglary.
