With a winter storm upon us, our roadways are treacherous for drivers. Law enforcement officials ask people not to drive unless it's an absolute emergency. Many businesses and services are shuttered until weather conditions improve.

Governor Jeff Landry issued a "state of emergency" order for our state on Saturday. Winter weather combined with overnight lows in the teens or possibly below in some areas, sleet and snow that have fallen will freeze, making our roadways very dangerous.

With the weather situation, many businesses and services are halting operations and activities until it is deemed safe to proceed.
