
Louisiana State Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting
Louisiana law enforcement officials from Louisiana State Police have been asked to investigate an officer-involved shooting that happened at around 10 o'clock in the evening on Sunday, March 23.
What Details Are Available At This Time?
According to Trooper First Class Matt Gaspard with the Public Affairs Section of State Police, investigators are currently looking into a shooting that happened on Barn Stable Drive in Lake Charles.
While very few details are being released about the investigation thus far, we do know that following the shooting, officials with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office requested Louisiana State Police begin an investigation. They worked to process the scene and gather as much information as possible.
Were There Injuries?
According to Gaspard, the deputy involved in the incident was not hurt. The suspect was shot and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
What Do Officials Want From The Public?
Louisiana State Police officials are asking anyone who has any information about the incident, including, but not limited to, pictures or video, to share that with LSP.

State Police officials say they will not be releasing any other information at this time.
