Denham Springs Law enforcement officers say the 31-year-old mother left the vehicle running with her two children inside while she went in the gas station. While Feilds was in Circle K on South Range Avenue near Bass Pro Boulevard, Jennifer Gullick, 40, stole the car with the children, ages 6 and 4, on board.

Gullick was last seen leaving the gas station headed southbound on South Range Avenue toward Vincent Road. WBRZ reported that at some point she abandoned the vehicle in a ditch along Plantation Avenue. Thankfully, both children were still inside and unharmed.

Police used store surveillance cameras to identify the suspect and locate her. Officials believe Gullick was staying at a hotel close by where she was found walking around.

WBRZ reported that Jennifer Gullick was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on two charges: theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated kidnapping charges. The mother, Jameka Feilds, was also arrested and charged with two counts of child desertion. She was released from the scene with a misdemeanor summons.
