The man who uploaded the first video of Alton Sterling being fatally shot by Baton Rouge Police believes it cost him his job.

Christopher LeDay uploaded the video on July 5 after it was shared with him by a third party. LeDay says he posted the video with only the best of intentions.

I knew I had the platform to share it, to make it go viral and I even requested when I originally posted it that everybody should share this to show some of the heinous crimes that have been committed by law enforcement against black men

While LeDay may have had the best intentions, be believes that posting the video is what led him to being detained upon his arrival to work the next day. LeDay reported to work at a private security firm at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA when he was stopped by police.

He was taken into custody by Dunwoody Police once he arrived on base on July 6, this according to FOX5.

military police ran a search on LeDay as part of the security clearance process. They discovered LeDay was wanted on an old warrant out of Dunwoody and contacted the police department. Officers then arrived on base and transported LeDay to the DeKalb County Jail for "failing to appear on several traffic charges."

LeDay said he is now being represented by attorney Tiffany Simmons who believes her client was "punished for doing the right thing."

He's been punished for being a good Samaritan by showing this video and showing America that we have to look in the mirror and we have to change some things.

When LeDay was hired about a month ago, he claims the private company knew about his outstanding traffic tickets and he says he even disclosed that on his employment paperwork.

Police say they didn't know about the video of Sterling at the time of LeDay's detainment, but LeDay still believes the timing was "suspect."

Even though the traffic tickets were paid, LeDay has not been able to return to work and his lawyer is calling on his employer to let the father of three return.

The company has declined to comment. Do you think LeDay should get his job back?
