UPDATE: A 16-year-old black male has been arrested in Tuesday's shooting. Lafayette Police say he has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder. The victim remains in critical condition at this time.


Around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, Lafayette Police were called out to a shooting in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Police say an 18-year-old male victim had been shot several times and is said to be in critical condition.

Lafayette Police are asking anyone who might have information on the shooting to call their department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
