Lafayette Police have confirmed that at least one victim was transported to a local hospital following an apparent shooting that took place on Monday night. Lafayette officers responded to a "shots fired" call shortly after 10 pm Monday evening in the 1600 block of East Simcoe Street.

According to reports, officers found one person suffering from injuries sustained via gunshot. The victim's injuries were reported to be to the upper torso area of the body. As we mentioned, the victim was transported to a local hospital where their condition is unknown at this time.

Police believe two suspects are involved in this incident. Those suspects have not been identified publicly however, the LPD search continues.
