Motorcycle Fatality Identified In Youngsville
Today 51 year old Anthony Gage of Youngsville was pronounced dead at the scene of a mid-day crash involving his motorcycle, an SUV and a pickup. According to our news partners at KATC Gage was stopped on LA 92 waiting to turn left on to St. Etienne when he was struck from the rear by an SUV driven by 30 year old Megan Malespin of Lafayette.
Gage was thrown from his motorcycle into the path of an oncoming pickup truck driven by 73 year old M.C. Richardson of New Iberia. Gage died at the scene, Malespin was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Richardson was not injured.
Malespin was charged with careless operation, driving under suspension and booked into the Lafayette Parish jail on outstanding warrants.
Alcohol is not suspected in the crash but routine toxicology results are pending.
