New Iberia Man Shot At A Party

A block party turns out badly for one area man.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's office responded to a report of someone being shot. Captain Ryan Turner says the 19-year old victim told detectives he was attending the party that was being held in an area around Anderson Street last night around 6:30.

The victim says all of the sudden someone yelled out that a person had a gun.  The victim reacted by running away, but it was not fast enough for the assailants bullet as the man ended up being shot in his arm.

The Sheriff's office reports that the victim has been released for the hospital, but they are trying to figure out who shot the man.  Iberia Parish deputies are asking anyone with any information on the case to call their office at 337-369-3711.
