New Iberia Veteran Gifted with New Roof for His Home

A New Iberia Navy veteran will no longer have to worry about a leaking roof on his Jane Street home. This, thanks to Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana and a nationwide program that repairs roofs for veterans.

The program, the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project, works with contractor companies like Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana to seek out veterans with special roofing needs. In the case of James Norman, the Navy veteran says he simply couldn't afford the cost to repair or replace the roof on his home. That's when he heard about the program from Owens Corning.

Last week crews from Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana completed the project at Norman's Jane Street home in New Iberia. Crews rushed to get the job on the schedule and completed ahead of approaching Tropical Storm Cristobal.

Fortunately, the new roof was not put to the test by the storm, but Mr. James can rest assured his new roof will be more than ready to handle whatever Mother Nature throws his direction in the future.

The Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project has been active since 2016  Anna Olivier, owner of Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana expressed her thoughts on being able to help not only a Louisiana neighbor but a Louisiana veteran.
