New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is once again making headlines related to her personal beef with Christian singer and Louisiana native Lauren Daigle. This time, apparently, she's attempting to get Dick Clark Productions to remove Daigle from their musical line up for the annual 'New Year's Rocking Eve' event in the city.

In case you've forgotten, Daigle performed at a Christian Music event in the French Quarter back on November 7th. According to reports, Cantrell was "furious" because the event went on without a permit.

Despite being organized by Christian rocker Sean Feucht, Cantrell took most of her public shots at Lauren Daigle for being apart of the event. Well, that animosity continues as Mayor Cantrell is now trying to get Daigle removed from the national spotlight.

Mayor Cantrell sent a letter to the president of Dick Clark Productions asking them to remove Daigle from their musical lineup. In the letter, Cantrell said that the company should not reward Daigle with national media exposure and the public spotlight.

"I ask that you immediately remove Ms. Daigle from the line-up for New Year's Eve," Cantrell said in the letter. "She harmed our people, she risked the lives of our residents, and she strained our first responders in a way that is unconscionable --in the midst of a public health crisis."

Talk about holding a grudge.

On the flip side to all this, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser told WWL in New Orleans that it was all a misunderstanding and that Daigle attempted to get hold of the Mayor to apologize. The Mayor, according to Nungesser, has refused to talk to Daigle in any capacity.

If "New Year's Rockin' Eve" doesn't pull Daigle, will the Mayor cancel the whole event? Given her petty track record of canceling events and threatening to hold the Saints hostage, it's very much a possibility that she could kill a national broadcast that puts New Orleans in a positive light.
