Did you know that being a teacher is one of the lowest paid professions that generally require a bachelor's degree? For some, that's not shocking. Especially in our area, where teacher pay has been a hot topic for the last couple of years.

New research from the personal finance website WalletHub sheds some light on how bad it is for teachers in Louisiana. The site used 23 key metrics, across a multitude of fields, to find what states are the best, and worst, for teachers in the US.

Overall, Louisiana was the 4th worst state for teachers in the US, behind only Hawaii (3rd worst), New Hampshire (2nd worst), and Arizona (worst).

  • 46th – Teacher Safety
