Singer-songwriter Kylie Frey of Opelousas will be among 21 artists competing on a new music series called "Real Country". The show debuts at 9 pm on November 13 on the USA Network.

Each contestant was hand-picked by one of the show's permanent panel of judges -- Shania Twain, Jake Owen and Travis Tritt.

Kylie was chosen by Shania Twain and will be one of her seven picks.

In each episode, three artists will compete for $10,000, a performance at Stagecoach -- California's Country Festival, and a spot in the grand finale where they will then vie for a chance to win $100,000 and a coveted performance on the iconic Grand Ole Opry.

We've known Kylie for quite a few years now as she's cut her teeth playing around Acadiana's live music scene. You may have heard some of her singles on 97.3 The Dawg, including "The Chase" and "Too Bad", which featured Randy Rogers. Both of those songs were off of her "Cinderella Dreams" album.

And now the Teurlings Catholic graduate is up in Nashville following her dream of becoming a country star.

We look forward to catching up with Kylie during the show's run and hopefully talking to her on-air as the winner of the very first "Real Country" competition!
