** UPDATE- Victim ID’d **Police Still Investigating Shooting Death On Surrey Street

** UPDATE ** The victim has been identified as 57 year old Rosando Gonzales.

A man was shot to death last night in the 600 block of Surrey Street.

Lafayette Police say two men were walking down the sidewalk when a dark colored car drove up.

Two black men wearing dark hooded jackets got out and walked up to the men.

One victim took off running when he realized the two suspects had guns.

As he was running away, the victim says he heard a single gunshot, and he returned later to find his friend lying dead on the ground.

Investigators are asking anyone who might know anything about the case to call Lafayette Police or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS, all callers can remain anonymous.
