Police Urge Residents to Stay Off the Road and Avoid Sightseeing
Huricane Delta will bring severe winds when it makes landfall and naturally, many in Acadiana will be curious about storm damage and be tempted to go sight-seeing. The Youngsville Police Department is asking residents to stay home once conditions become too dangerous to get out. The police department said they will actually shelter their units once the winds reach 50 mph to avoid any flying debris.
Please don't endanger yourself by getting out during the storm because if you need help then you will be endangering our lives also as we will respond to calls for help. That's even if we are able to respond. Be safe and stay home. - Youngsville Police Department
Officials are saying to limit any unnecessary travel and do not go sightseeing. Stay home while the authorities try to make roadways safe and passable.
