President Donald Trump officially qualifies to appear on the ballot for the April 4th presidential primary in Louisiana. Attorney General Jeff Landry filed the paperwork on behalf of the President at the Secretary of State’s office Thursday morning.

“President Trump and his ‘Promises Made, Promises Kept,’ agenda continues to deliver results for the state of Louisiana.  So when the President asked me to be here for this momentous occasion, I happily accepted,” said Landry.

Landry says it is important for President Trump to be victorious in 2020 because nearly 300,000 Louisiana jobs are supported by the oil and gas industry.

“The Democrats radical agenda and Green New Deal would jeopardize all of those jobs and crush Louisiana’s economy so today is the beginning of Louisiana’s efforts to ensure that that doesn’t happen,” said Landry.

Landry also serves at the national co-chair of Veterans for Trump and says the President’s administration has help vets, military and their families.

“It is for these issues, the economy, jobs, and veterans, and others like immigration, like national defense, and healthcare, that the President will win Louisiana again and defeat whichever socialist Democrat is nominated,” said Landry.

So far, nine Democrats have qualified in Louisiana for the primary.

In November 2016, Donald Trump received one-point-one million votes, the most votes ever in Louisiana history.
