The Hanes Corporation donated cotton masks to the St. Martin Parish Office of Homeland Security, and they will make the masks available to the public this Wednesday morning.

When the donation of the masks were made, they were given to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, who is coordinating the distribution.

There are six different locations in the parish, but officials are asking you to go to the location that is in your city where you live.

They will begin distribution of the cotton masks at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 28.

Major Ginny Higgins, Spokeswoman for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, says in a press release that only one packet of five masks will be given to each car that shows up at each the multiple distribution sites. Higgins says not exceptions to this rule will be made, and they will not distribute masks to anyone who just walks up to the distribution site.

This is first come, first served situation, and when the masks are gone, they are gone. Each packet contains five masks.

You are asked to drive up to your designated location, but you are not allowed to get our of your car.

The following is a list of the places and addresses of the sites where the distribution of the masks will happen tomorrow:

  • If you live in the Breaux Bridge City Limits, you can pick up a packet of masks at the Parc Hardy Pavilion at 755 Doucet Drive.
  • If you live in the Henderson City Limits, you can pick up a packet of masks at the Henry Guidry Park Pavilion which is at 1007 Amy Street right behind City Hall.
  • If you live in the Parks City Limits, you can pick up a packet of masks at the Parks City Hall Drive Thru which is at 1019 Periou Street.
  • If you live in the Stephensville and/or Belle River City Limits, you can pick up a packet of masks at Stephensville Elementary which is located at 3243 Highway 70.
  • If you live in the St. Martinville City Limits, you can pick up a packet of masks at the St. Martinville City Hall which is located at 120 South New Market Street.
  • If you live in the Unincorporated areas of St. Martin Parish, you can pick up a packet of masks at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Public Safety Complex which is located at 4870 Main Highway.

Higgins is asking the public to be patient with this process.
