Shooting at New Iberia Store Easter Morning

Officials with the New Iberia Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened at a store on Easter morning.

New Iberia Police Department Spokeswoman Sergeant Daesha Hughes says one man was shot in the head.

The shooting happened at around 9:30 Sunday morning at a store on South Hopkins and Field Streets.

Hughes says the victim is in critical condition at an area hospital according to her statement to KLFY.

Officials say they do not have a suspect in the case, but they are encouraging anyone who might know anything about this incident to come forward.
