The second annual Juice Fest in downtown Houma ended with gunshots Sunday night. One man was reportedly shot.

Houma Police Sgt. Travis Theriot said the shooting took place on Goode Street near the intersection with West Main Street.

Details are still sparse at this time as Houma Police have released very little information.

"The investigation is extremely early," Theriot said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and the severity of his injuries are not known.

Sadly, the event was organized as a free music festival to showcase talent in the community, offer food and promote inclusion.

Organizer Justin Patterson says the festival also gave away backpacks filled with school supplies and plans to give all of the money raised to a couple of Terrebonne Parish schools.

Patterson said he was disappointed by the violence shown by a few people at the event, saying they had "no respect" for the event's purpose.
