SMPD Arrest Man Wanted for Attempted 2nd Degree Murde

St. Martinville Police arrested Paul Henery Demouchet Jr. this afternoon at a residence in St. Martinville on a warrant for attempted 2nd-degree murder.

Demouchet was located and attempted to flee, but was taken into custody.

Demouchet was wanted for stabbing another male on Saturday.

An officer was dispatched to a business located at 804 South Main Street that morning in reference to a stabbing that had occurred inside the business.

A male subject had been stabbed several times in his upper back area and in the head.

Demouchet was arrested on the following charge:

• 1 Count of RS14:27.30.1--ATTEMPTED 2ND DEGREE MURDER-- (FELONY)
