ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KPEL) -- Two St. Landry Parish school board members may be the target of an investigation by the FBI.

According to a complaint filed late Monday night, an FBI agent called the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's office to let them know he was part of a sting operation involving school board members Quincy Richard and John Miller and interim school board superintendent Joseph Cassimere.

The complaint alleges Richard and Miller tried to extort money out of Cassimere in exchange for their vote. Elections for a permanent superintendent will be held Wednesday night at the school board meeting.

According to the complaint, the FBI agent told Richard and Miller to stay away from Cassimere. The FBI will neither confirm nor deny if they are investigating the pair.
