St. Landry Parish School Board Hoodie Ban

KATC reports this Thursday, the St. Landry School Board will meet, and on the agenda is the discussion to ban hoodies and beanies in St. Landry Parish school buildings.

On the agenda, among quite a few points of interest when it comes to the dress code, including -

"Knit Caps (Beanie) (without a face covering, ear flaps, or poms) – allowed as headgear and must be removed when entering school buildings/classrooms. Optional school color with school logo and school-issued beanies are permitted.

NOTE: Outerwear guidelines apply to all students (including athletes) at all school events (including athletic events)."

As you'll notice when you look at the agenda at boarddocs.com, the words "Without a Hood" have been added to the items sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, and windbreakers.

What do you think? Should hoodies and beanies be banned in St. Landry Parish school buildings?
