A 17-year-old from Lafayette man has been arrested by St. Martin Parish deputies for a shooting that happened on Johnson Road on February 17.

At that time, deputies were called out to investigate after a man was seen driving down the road erractically, and then there was a report of shots fired. The victim was treated for non-life threatening gunshot wound.

St. Martin Deputies, with the help of multiple law enforcement agencies in Lafayette, arrested Darron Carter Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old has been charged with the following:

Six counts of attempted 1st degree murder
One count of aggravated criminal damage to property

Carter will be extradited back to St. Martin Parish.

His bond was set at $1,530,000.00
