St. Martin Deputies Arrest One Thief, One Meth Dealer
In two unrelated cases, deputies with the St Martin Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a New Iberia man for the theft of two generators and a Cecilia man for selling methamphetamine.
First, deputies arrested 24-year-old Paul Joseph Myers of New Iberia for stealing two generators. Sheriff's spokeswoman Maj. Ginny Higgins said deputies received reports of two stolen generators from residences near St. Martinville.
Following an investigation, Iberia Parish deputies arrested Myers on two counts of theft of goods valued between$750 and $5,000. He will be extradited to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center at a later date.
Then, Higgins said Narcotics Division agents arrested 30-year-old Trent Thibodeaux
of Cecilia Friday after executing a search warrant at his home on Roma Drive. Agents recovered a significant amount of methamphetamine as well as firearms at the home.
Thibodeaux was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
