Texas Lottery ‘Doubles Down’ With 2 Powerball Winners Monday
Has Lady Luck moved to Texas? Based on what we've seen in recent weeks regarding the Texas Lottery and games such as Powerball, Texas Two Step, Lotto Texas with Extra! and Mega Millions it would be easy to assume that "the Lady" had indeed set up housekeeping in the Lone Star State.
The Texas Lottery has confirmed $25,000 wins in Arlington, El Paso, Irving, Waco, and a slew of other Texas towns as locations where winning tickets were sold. Monday night's Powerball drawing has added two more towns and two more names to the ever-growing list of big-money wins.
On Monday nights the Texas Lottery features drawings in two of its more popular games. The multi-state Powerball game and the Texas Lottery inspired Lotto Texas with Extra! The Powerball top prize was an estimated $388.1 million while the Lotto Texas jackpot was estimated to be $29 million when the balls dropped on Monday evening.
If you couldn't watch the Powerball drawing live. Here's how it unfolded:
Needless to say, Monday's drawing was met with a lot of anticipation in Texas since the Powerball game had been quite generous to Texas players in Saturday night's drawing. If you didn't hear, one of the game's top prizes went to a Texas-sold ticket on Saturday. You can check your numbers for that drawing by using this link.
Did Anyone Win the Powerball on October 14, 2024?
Monday's Powerball drawing, according to our sources at Powerball, did not produce a jackpot winner in Texas or in any other location where the game is played. That means the Powerball top prize will continue to grow for Wednesday night's drawing.
Officials estimate the top prize for the annuitized jackpot on Wednesday will be $408 million. The estimated prize for a player who wins and chooses the cash option or lump sum payout would be $196.3 million.
Powerball Wins In Texas
We do know that once again a Texas-sold ticket claimed one of the largest prizes won on Monday night. A ticket matching four of the five white balls and the Powerball with Power Play earned a prize of $100,000. There was another Texas ticket that matched that same winning scenario but the purchaser declined the Power Play option. That ticket earned a prize of $50,000.
The numbers that we saw drawn for Powerball on Monday were:
14 18 33 64 67 Powerball 14 Power Play x2
Please verify those numbers at the Official Texas Lottery Website or the Official Powerball Website. Those sites are the final word on the official numbers and they also have information on prize redemption that would be quite useful if you feel you have money coming back to you.
Lotto Texas with Extra! Results for October 14, 2024
The Monday draw for Lotto Texas with Extra! did not produce a jackpot winner either. The game did make seven winners of $11,507 and another dozen winners of $1,507. All 19 of those winning tickets matched five of six numbers in Lotto Texas with Extra! but the tickets that won the larger prize amounts opted to pay for the "Extra" part of the game.
The top prize when Lotto Texas with Extra! draws again on Wednesday will be an estimated $29 million. Meanwhile, your next chance at life-changing riches will come tonight in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game. That game features an estimated annuitized jackpot of $169 million with the cash option estimated to be $80 million.
Our friends at the Texas Lottery, Powerball, and Mega Millions all agree that lottery games are fun but sometimes the desire to play and win can get out of control.
