There has been plenty of construction and traffic news coming out of the city of Youngsville the past few days. It was recently announced the city has plans to add two more roundabouts to the traffic patterns in town which should improve traffic flow in and around the Youngsville Sports Complex.  Now comes word that the next 30 days will feature four different bridge repair projects in the city.

Construction work is expected to begin next week on the bridge on East Milton Avenue near Route 92. The work is not expected to close the bridge, however, traffic will be reduced to one lane at times.

Similar traffic slowdowns can be expected the following week, the week of April 8th, when construction and repairs begin on a bridge on Iberia Street near Bayou Parc Perdue. Again, the bridge and roadway are not expected to close but traffic will be reduced to one lane during the work.

will find crews once again on East Milton Road. This time near the Oak Knoll Subdivision. That part of town is located just east of the East Milton/Verot School Road roundabout. That bridge will be closed during repair work which is expected to last about three days once it begins.

Construction crews hope to move directly from that project to another project near Bayou Parc Pardue and Savoy Road. That bridge on Savoy Road near the Youngsville Sports Complex will be closed for the duration of construction and repair.

Local officials encourage motorists who might be affected by these construction plans to begin formulating alternate routes. Again, all four projects are expected to be completed, weather permitting of course, within the month of April.
