Two men were arrested after a search warrant was obtained for their home and car after a witness called police to say they were brandishing weapons.

This area of Kibbe Street, according to Lt. Jonathan Touchet via press release, was the same area were a homicide happened on Tuesday, November 3.

Jaheim Palmer has been charged with the following according to Touchet:

  • Illegal Carrying of Weapons
  • Possession With the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
  • Possession of Buprenorphine

The other man, Javion Palmer has been charged with the following according to Touchet:

  • Illegal Carrying of Weapons
  • Possession With the Intent to Distribute Marijuana

The investigation into this incident happened at around 12:30 Wednesday afternnon at 411 Kibbe Street in Abbeville. Both of these men are from Broussard. They both showed their residence as 135 Terrance Oak. Javion is 24-years-old and Jaheim is 19-years-old.

Touchet said the men were seen standing around, sitting in and being around a car at this apartment, and there were brandishing weapons including an assault rifle.

When officers got to the scene, they say they saw two men go into the apartment, then they came out, and when they approached them to speak to them, they could also smell burnt marijuana. That is when officers requested and were granted a search warrant for the car and apartment.

These officer, Touchet says, found different narcotics. The officers also recovered an gun and an assault rifle.
