Two Kidnapped Children Rescued By LA State Police

Louisiana State Police from Troop B rescued two kidnapped North Carolina children. A 15 year old boy and a 13 year old girl were found in a pickup truck near the St. James/ St. John the Baptist Parish line. The vehicle was driven by 40 year old Jose Melchor of Clemmons, North Carolina, the uncle of the two teens. It was reported that Melchor was headed to Mexico traveling on I-10. Melchor was arrested and charged with two felony counts of child abduction. The children were returned to their family in North Carolina.
