Two Men Accused Of Trying To Steal Vehicles From Iberia Auto Plex
According to Sheriff Louis Ackal, on November 25, two suspects were arrested for attempting to steal vehicles from a local car dealership.
The arrests were made during an investigation conducted by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Directed Patrol Division, Bureau of Investigations and the uniformed patrol division.
Tyler Stokes 06/02/1992 and I’ Kari Nicholas 03/04/1993 were arrested for attempting to steal vehicles the business of Iberia Auto Plex on the 800 Block of East Admiral Doyle. Detectives believe Stokes was the lookout while Nicholas was attempting to steal a vehicle from the business. The business was previously burglarized on the 23rd of November where 5 vehicles were stolen along with numerous keys belonging to other vehicles parked on the lot. All five vehicles were located the following day.
Stokes was charged with: three counts of principal to attempted theft over $500, three counts of possession of stolen property, and illegal carrying of weapons. 25,000 bond and is still incarcerated.
Nicholas was charged with: Criminal trespass, two counts of principal to attempted theft, two counts of possession of stolen property, resisting an officer by flight and possession of marijuana. $10,000 bond and has since been released.
Detectives expect more arrests to follow.
