Murray Cary (76), a disabled veteran, lost his home and all belongings in under 40 minutes when his house was struck by lightning Tuesday evening.  And now Mr. Cary could use a helping hand.

Murray Cary, a resident of rural Church Point, lost his wife a few years ago, one of his daughters and her young son moved in to take care of him.  Mr. Cary was a home builder most of his life but suffered a severe heart attack when he was only 47.  Unbeknownst to his children, two of which who lived on the property as well, Cary let his insurance lapse because he couldn't afford to pay the premiums.  Now the family is in peril as everything has been lost.

The outpouring of prayers has been abundant but now the family needs help in cleanup and rebuilding.  The family is capable of manual labor and building, it's the cost of supplies that's most difficult for them now.  In addition, Mr. Cary's 6-year-old grandson crawled out of the burning home leaving toys, clothes, school uniforms, everything all totally destroyed.  The family truck was also lost.
