SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A restaurant worker is recovering after being shot by a customer.

KSLA-TV reports that a Waffle House employee was shot by a man about 3 p.m. Saturday. The employee was taken to University Health in Shreveport and was expected to recover.

Police say the shooter appeared to be intoxicated. After the shooting, a witness followed the man down the street and watched him until police arrived.

Police say the man had a bottle of whiskey when they arrested him. He has not been identified.

The reason for the shooting was unclear. Police say they don't think the man was trying to rob the Waffle House.
