2nd Suspect In Thanksgiving Day Shooting Arrested
26 year old Jared A. Burleigh of Opelousas has been arrested by St. Landry Parish detectives in connection to the Thanksgiving morning abduction and shooting of a 49 year old woman. The woman accepted a ride from the two men who took her to a secluded area and attacked her. The victim was able to escape after being shot. She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The other suspect in the case, Chad E. Sam was arrested over the weekend.
Jared A. Burleigh has been charged with:
- Attempted second degree murder
- Armed robbery
- Aggravated kidnapping
