3 Iberia Parish Inmates Take Hostage

Three inmates in Iberia Parish have added more time to their stay after they took their jailer hostage early Saturday morning, sparking a standoff with police.

Authorities say two-and-a-half hours after the standoff began, SWAT breached the cell and were able to rescue the deputy, who sustained injuries.  He has since been treated and released from a local hospital.  The three inmates, Victor Goodman, Jeremy Richard and Brian Segura are charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer.
