Opelousas Police: 70-Year-Old Woman Shoots Husband During Argument

A 70-year-old woman has been arrested after police say she shot her husband during an argument.

According to our media partners at KATC, Hazel Edwards of Opelousas shot her husband on Monday while the two were arguing. Details are unclear as to why they were arguing but after the shooting, Edwards called Opelousas PD to inform them that she shot her husband.

Police arrived at the home on Statesman Road to find the husband with non-life-threatening injuries. Edwards was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
