Basile Bicyclist Struck And Killed By Train

61-year-old Shelton August Jr. of Basile was riding a bicycle and attempted to cross the Union Pacific tracks on Ryan Street when he was struck by a train. According to our news partners at KATC Basile Police Chief Allen Ivory says August was pronounced dead at the scene.
