Carencro Police Searching for Woman Accused of Leaving Children in Car While at Bar

(Carencro, Louisiana) – Authorities in Carencro are actively searching for 31-year-old Lauren Sage Baker of Breaux Bridge, who is wanted on three counts of child desertion following an incident at a local bar.

According to the Carencro Police Department, the incident occurred last Saturday afternoon (Feb 15) at Pogie’s Pour House. Baker is accused of leaving her three children locked inside a vehicle while she went inside the bar for approximately two hours. Witnesses reported that police arrived at the scene and found the children still inside the car while Baker was inside.

Carencro Police issued a wanted notice for Baker on February 21, stating that she currently has an active warrant for her arrest. Authorities are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the Carencro Police Department at (337) 896-6132.

The case has sparked debate online, with social media users weighing in on whether leaving children unattended in a car should be considered a crime.
