Crash Claims The Life Of An Elton Man

Louisiana State Police was called out to Highway 165 in Jefferson Davis Parish yesterday afternoon after a crash happened.

An Elton man, 78-year-old Eugene E. Kinkelaar, died in the two vehicle crash.

State Police Troop D spokesman Derek Senegal says that they believe that Kinkelaar hit the back of a tractor that had a disk plow attached to the back of it.

Kinkelaar died at the scene of the crash, and the driver of the tractor, 24-year-old Joshua Dean Luntsford, only had minor injuries.

Troopers say Kinkelaar was wearing a seat belt and routine toxicology tests are pending on both men.

Senegal says this is the twelfth fatality after ten crashes in the Troop D region this year.
