Crash in Jeff Davis Parish Claims Life of Pedestrian

Law enforcement officials in Jennings are going over information gathered at the scene of a fatal crash this morning. The crash occurred last night at about 6 pm. It happened near the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Touchet Road.

Details are few and far between at this time but what we have been able to learn is that a pedestrian was struck and killed at that location last night. State Police were going over the accident scene and as of this report, the identity of the deceased has not been released.

Troopers have also not announced what, if any, charges will be filed in connection with the crash. Now would be a great time for us to remind you that with darkness arriving earlier in the evening during the winter months it is important that you can be visible to motorists. This is just as important on a busy city street as it is for a jogger chuntering through a neighborhood at dusk.

State Police will likely release more information on the crash later today.
