EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested on theft and forgery charges after he allegedly stole checks from two people.

Eunice Police Department spokesperson Deputy Chief Varden Guillory says two victims came to the police department after they noticed "discrepancies from their checking accounts."

An investigation revealed checks were stolen from both victims. Guillory says Cody Prather allegedly wrote all the checks to himself and cashed them.

Prather was arrested and booked into the Eunice City Jail on a $32,000 bond. He faces 10 counts of forgery, 11 counts of theft by fraud, and 11 counts of monetary instrument abuse.
